Who Takes Deep Water Play?
After you can rest for 5 to 10 minutes peacefully in water over your head, you may want to become nimble in the water.
To be eligible, you must be peaceful in the middle of deep water in a pool for at least 5 minutes and a graduate of our Beginning course. Most likely you’ll also be a graduate of the Next Step course.
In terms of safety, this third course in our series of Core Courses, completes your series to achieve Pool Competency.
What Is the Course?
When you’ve mastered your safety in the deep end of the pool and you can “hang out” there as long as you want, there’s one more level of competency to win: nimbleness.
Gain control of doing exactly what you want, when you want to do it. Learn to use the water and your body to pick up the keys you dropped in the deep, find a nose clip, play games, swim along the bottom, do stunts. Go up, down, forward and backward at will. This includes mastering your air. The combination of this course plus Jump Off the Boat produce a class of graduates who can tread water for half an hour in the ocean.
